What is the difference between these two DAX measures Calculation .

These two measures generate different output on line chart 

1)  

CALCULATE(MAXX(Stocks,[close]),FILTER(Stocks,[Date] = selected_date))

 

2)  CALCULATE(MAXX(Stocks,[close]),Stocks[Date] = selected_date)
