This post explains how to show a link to a URL instead of the full URL in tables in Power BI Desktop: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/power-bi-hyperlinks-in-tables

Does anyone know how to get a url icon displayed in the Matrix visualization (rather than simple table)?

@vanessa I don't know where specifically you are looking, but this allows you to input URL's in your data, and if you format them as "URL" then you will be able to click on the links in your report and be re-directed to the URL page.
