It just adds a remove rows with errors step to your query. For example, if you had a file of a different format in the folder that caused an error, it would filter it out for you.

It's quite a philosophical question, there's no black and white here.
It depends on the developer's work style.
I like control, so if something goes wrong, the process should stop and flood me with problems.
Not to find out in retrospect that the reports already had errors.
Examples include:
The Excel-based report a user saves every week.
There's something wrong with Excel one week.
You have to ask yourself if you want the report to refresh and just ignore this excel and then there will be missing data.
Or everything will stop and users will yell and you'll look for the problem...
