Web credentials needed every time

Hello,

We have a Power Automate that generates an Excel document, that is then saved on SharePoint and read by Power BI.

When the Excel is created, it deletes the existing one and creates a new one, same name collums ect but Power BI wants the credentials re-adding

Is there a way to apply credentials that stick or another way of getting the Excels accessible by Power BI?

Helllo @twrigglesworth2 ,

there's a sharepoint connector as well https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-query/connectors/sharepoint-folder

Hello @twrigglesworth2 ,

I would suggest you read from a folder in power bi, so you let power automate send the excel to a specific folder online and you always read what's in a folder.

That looks like it may do the task - how would I point it a SharePoint folder, rather than a local?

Thank you - The account I am using is a O365 for the SharePoint - will it prompt every time there a need for a 2FA or should it hold the connection to the SharePoint?

Hello @twrigglesworth2 ,

this is not my point of expertise.

Hi @Idrissshatila

Your suggestion hit the target exactly! Thank you so much for this, took some time to get my head around the process but got my Excel files and have removed and deleted a hand full of times now with no protest from Power BI.

Thanks for the help.
