Post PatronWe couldn't authenticate the credentials provided.
Hello all,
I had my windows password update on my laptop today and I noticed right after that update, some of the power bi dataset failed refresh due to the error saying: We couldn't authenticate the credentials provided.
Not sure why all of sudden, I am getting this error. I tried authenticating using windows option and still getting this error. This dataset was working fine before.
Please keep in mind all the dataset that are failing has connections comming from share point online. Does that has something to do with it?

Hi pthapa - When your Windows password changes, it can affect Power BI connections, especially if they use your Windows credentials to connect to SharePoint Online or other resources that rely on Active Directory (AD) authentication. Since the dataset connections were working fine before the password change, it’s likely that Power BI is still trying to authenticate using your old credentials, which no longer match your new password.

Appreciate your clear explanations on this issue and that is exactly what happened to my connections. I noticed once my windows password were changed, the connections failed because it was still looking for old password. After I updated my credentials again on those connections that were failing, it worked.
Just to help other users facing similar issues, I also included the service account to these connections so in the future when my windows password changes again, the refresh will not fail since service account password will never expire (this is something your IT will have to do it for you).Thanks again rajendraongole1 for your time.
