I am getting the below error while trying to refresh it on power Bi service.
The data is connected through AWS Athena. The gateway status is showing online and running state. When I refresh it through Power Bi desktop it's working fine. There are no null values in the data. I am not sure how it fix this issue. Anyone can suggest what could be the issue.
I had the same issue and I found a work around that worked for me, not sure if it applies to all cases but you can try. In power BI Desktop go to Transform Data --> Data Source Settings, right click on Amazon Athena and select clear permissions. After that I was able to refresh data again. Hope this helps
Hi @chizuml_ds,
I had the same issue and I figured out the reason it was happening. When you mention your DSN in the Amazon Athena (Beta), the next thing it will ask is your login (which has two options).Do not take the 2nd option. Pick the first option where the all setting are pulled from your DSN settings, which you did to setup your datasource.
Now if you once did it wrong, It won't ask you again the same things to fix it. Create a new powerbi file and do the steps.

Thanks CST, but not real helpful when the data source is out of our control.
It gives the perception that Microsoft helped this to happen when WE want to pull AWS data ourselves (and not pay the 1% of all cloud costs when Azure does it).
Hi @Tech02 ,
The error message means that you need to change null value to other values when you change data type.
I have found a similar post, pelase refer to it to see if it helps you.
