Want to sort matrix by subrows

Hi,

In my matrix, each product has Name and description and associate to one subcategory which is associate to one category. I expand all the rows column and now I have 4 columns: Name, Description, Category and Subcategory. When I click on sort button on Name in the header, the sort functionality work but when I click on sort button on Description, Category and Subcategory in header, the sort functionality do not work.
How can I handle this issue?

Hi,@lbendlin

thanks for your concern about this issue.

Your answer is excellent!

Hi,@ymar

I am glad to help you.

According to your description, you want to sort matrix by subrows?

If I understand you correctly, then you can refer to my solution.

Since you didn't provide a dataset for testing, I assumed some of the data myself.

Remember to add relationships to them:

Then you need to follow the steps in the picture to set up your sort:

Here's the sorted result:

You can also sort by other fields with this method.

I hope my suggestions give you good ideas, if you have any more questions, please clarify in a follow-up reply.

Best Regards,
Fen Ling,

Consider using the "sort a column by another column"  feature.

I'm new in power Bi. Can you give me some tips on how to use this feature?
