In our company we have Account Managers and Customers. Each Account Manager has a list of Customers that they work with. They all have postcode (zip code) properties that define location.
We have a requirement to create a visualisation that shows the distances between each Account Manager and their Customers. It doesn't have to be distances, but it least it needs to show each Account Manager in a same colour as his/her Customers on the same map.
How would you approach this problem in PowerBI?
Visualising the 'distance' between Account Manager & Clients will only be possible if you have Lat Long coordinates. If not, all clients will be seen as living in the same location (ie. Postcode).
How are you intending to use your report ?
1. Do you want to click on a region (ie. Postcode/Suburb) on a map, then see the name of the relevant Account Manager & Clients ? If so, then use the map as a filter, and have 2 separate tables/matrix that will update once a region has been selected. One table will identify the Account Manager, & the other will list the names of the Clients.
2. Do you want to filter by Account Manager, and for the map to show the relevant regions with a Count of Clients, and maybe a list of the client names ?
The above are the methods I can think off. Other may have different ideas.
I was going to show you an example, but Power BI has had issues with its maps since the February update.
Regards,
Daniel
Hi Daniel, thanks for your response. The map just need to show that account managers live in proximity to their customers.
