Visual to show by month
hi all
I am trying to get the visual to show month when filtering but it not showing. I couldn't figure out what I missed.
Any one help advice?

I'm not sure what you mean by " ... to show month when filtering ... " but maybe it's just this.
From your screenshot it seems that your report is configured to use Auto date/time (--> File --> Options and settings --> Options --> Data Load (Current file) --> Auto date/time (Time intelligence)):
This setting responsible for the automatic creation of date related hierarchies for each column of datatype date/datetime.
From your chart just remove the unwanted hierarchy level:
Now your chart should look like this:
Hopefully this is what you are looking for.

P.S.: It's also a best practice to disable the above mentioned option "Auto date/time" and to manually build all the necessary date related analytics, by creating a dedicated calendar table. A good starting point for this, is this article: https://www.daxpatterns.com/time-patterns/
