Visual exceeds available resources, but not when published

Hello,

I'm making a table visual with PowerBI Desktop on my laptop, and I get the error "Visual exceeded the available resources".

However, when I publish this report online, the table just loads perfectly.

Does anyone know if my laptop might not be strong enough, or might there be other issues?

Thanks in advance

Hi, @anonymous113231

According to your description, you have encountered the Resources Exceeded issue, which usually occurs when refreshing data, loading large datasets, or performing complex calculations, you can try the following methods to resolve your problem:

  1. Optimize the data model by minimizing the number of columns in the table and using appropriate data types.
  2. Optimize DAX expressions and avoid resource-intensive functions such as EARLIER() or FILTER().
  3. Clear the Power BI Desktop cache by going to File > Options and Settings > Options > Data Load > Clear cache. Clearing the Power BI Desktop Cache
  4. Ensure that you are using the latest version of Power BI Desktop.
  5. It is also possible that the local computer is running out of content space. Use Task Manager to monitor CPU and memory usage when loading visual objects in Power BI Desktop, and if the local memory is full, you can either upgrade laptop appropriately or turn off unneeded app on the local computer when you use Power BI Desktop
