Visual breaks when I add my date from date table

Hi, I have been stuck on this problem for a good 4 hours and need some help. I will do my best to explain it below with screenshots.

I have my relationships and use the createdon field from the profilestate table as my date for the x-axis of my graph. Everything appears to be working as intended here.

So next I want to be using the Date from the dimdate table because I have more visuals to build out that don't use createdon. So I create the relationship between Table ProfileState and Table Date with the createdon and date fields. 

The problem is now when I go to the visual and use the Date field, it breaks and doesn't work. The dates appear to be blank. 

Any help would be very appreciated, I have been stuck on this and can't seem to find an answer.
