Visual Studio "not responding" when updating Tabular model?

Does anyone else run into this issue?

I have my SQL 2016 SP1 SSAS Tabular model running locally on my workstation so I can use it for my workspace development.

When I updated or add a calculated column in VS 2015 and it goes to calculate the CPU spikes and VS goes "not responding" in task manager for 10 minutes or so.

This is happening more and more as my models become more complex etc...but this specific table only has 350K rows. 

Are others running into these types of issues, have they found work arounds, or anything useful?
