Vertical line to represent todays current date (dynamic) on a stacked bar chart

Hi there,

I currently have a stacked bar and line chart, and I'm requring a dynamic vertical line that represents the date: TODAY() that gradually moves across the x axis throughout the year.

I know you can add similar constant lines within line charts through the Analytics tab, but this is now unavailable due to the chart being a stacked bar and line.

Is there an alternative way to achieve this on the selected chart? I would really appreciate the advice!

Hi @Anonymous ,

Based on my test, after switching back to Line and Stacked column chart, the X-axis need to remove the Date hierarchy to make X-Axis constant line work.

As the screenshot shown, the original visual is drill down to Month, and the second visual is based on Day,  so they are in the different hierarchies.

Hey, is it possible to add a vertical line for today's date while keeping the date hierarchy intact? If it is possible, could you please provide a solution for the "line and stacked column" chart?

Hi there @Greg, thanks for the advice, really appreciate it.

Tried your guidance, the line has remained but it appears to have distorted the original column stacks, as below.

@Anonymous Switch to a Line chart. Add an X-Axis Constant Line in the Analytics pane based on a measure that returns today (TODAY()). Switch the visual to a stacked column and line chart. The X-Axis constant line should remain.
