In the clustered column chart there's only horizontal gridlines since it displayes the bars in a vertical way, while if you want vertical gridlines you could use the clustered bar chart, it shows the bars in an horizontal way with the available options to have vertical gridlines.

Idrissshatila Thanks for the info. I don't understand why both sets of girdlines aren't available in both charts. My chart is a time-series,(so left to right on the x axis) with multiple dimensions.
