Values displaying based on date selection

Hi

I have a specific use case which I am little unsure about.

I have a database table where various legal cases have a start date and an end date.

My customer would like to select 2 dates, and on that selection, a table visual to be populated with all the cases that were open at any point during the selected dates.

So, for example, if the customer selected 1st Dec - 31st Dec, any case that was open at any point during that period would be displayed in the table visual.

A case that was started on the 1st November and ended on the 15th December would be included in the visual.

A case that was started on the 29th December and has yet to end (End Date blank) would be included in the visual.

A case that was started on the 1st November and ended on the 19th November would not be included in the visual.

I hope thats clear, but if anyone could guide me that would be appreciated.

@powerbiuser9999 you can always create dummy data and share that. I don't how else to provide a solution.

I asked my boss and they've aid I'm not allowed as it is confidential I'm afraid.

It is really bugging me as your example seems identical to mine, but it delivers different results!

Hi @parry2k

Thank you for replying. In your file I couldn't see any relationship between the two tables, so I am unsure how this is functioning. This also works on a monthly slicer, and despite changing settings to days, I am unable to make it replicate the results.

Do you have any further pointers?
