Using start and end dates in a measure

I am trying to calculate the number of days of items in inventory over a period of time which can vary.  The start date is either the day the item came in inventory or the beginning of the period, (but need to filter out any days that the item came in after the end day).  The end date will be the end of the period or the date that the item left inventory. (but need to filter out any days where the item left inventory before the start date of the period.  I have thought of using excel tables with a start and end date that can be changed by the user, but seem unable to use these in either a calculated column or measure.  I have also looked at parameters which I have been able to create, but don't know where to go from there.

I have taken a different approach which resulted in creating columns and no longer need a solution to this problem.

Hi @Ria,

You can share the solution here, other community members would benefit from your solution when they get same issues.

Hi @Ria,

Based on your description, it is difficult for us to provide you a valid method. Would you please share sample data of your tables and post expected result here? We will appreciate that if you can post additional screenshots about your scenario.

Thanks,
Lydia Zhang
