Using smart narrative to calculate difference between two values

I am using smart narrative and am able to create individual values but I want to now be able to calculate the difference between the two values. Is this possible using smart narrative? The bold indicates the text I use to create each indiviudal value. You would think I'd be able to add "differece from" to this and have it work? Any advice? 

 

"difference previous pipeline value for Pipeline Value (header) from product value Open (opportunity status)"

@jpriemer you can create a measure from the difference and then add it into the narrative.

Thank you. Yes, I was trying to avoid using another measure and only use the Smart Narrative, but perhaps its not as advanced yet. Appreciate your help!
