Using an account-based data model in Power BI

I would like to migrate an account-based data model (from SAP Analytics Cloud) to Power BI.

Essentially, all key figures are kept in its own dimension, which contains calculated key figures, hierarchies, aggregation information etc.

What is the best practice to translate this to a tabular model for use in Power BI?

I think hiearachies and aggregations can be handled with DAX functions. However, translating calculated accounts into measures seems to be cumbersome. Moreover, I need to integrate them into the account hierarchy afterwards.

Thanks in advance!

Thanks, but I am not a beginner in Power BI, I have already build quite some models.

This is really a question to the experts, how to translate an account-based data model.

I think @ImkeF , should able to help on this.

But you might have be very specific about information you need. Also refer :https://radacad.com/build-your-first-star-schema-model-in-action-power-bi-modeling-basics

Thanks, all helpful information, however, star schema is also not the problem. You are right, I should be more specific - and I already asked specific questions in this forum. Such issues like handling of exception aggregations, ragged hierarchies, ragged aggregation formulas, etc.. Bit this topic was just to check if someone else has ever tried this and has some more general modelling tipps.

I think we can close this.
