Using a hyperlink instead of drill through feature

I’m using a matrix where the users drill through to the various tabs based on presented values.  My end users would prefer a 1-click link instead of the drill through.  Basically, replace the drill through method with some sort of hyperlink, that will take me to the same information.  Is this even possible?
Bookmarking capabilities would not be possible, as the data is dynamic and changes after each update.

Thanks!

  • it is possible to craft a URL with the appropriate report page and the filter selections, and present that URL as part of the visual. But the user experience will be horrible, with each click the user will basically reload the browser and cause everthing to recompute.

In this case having to right click for drilltrough is a small price to pay for an overall much better and more consistent UX.

Thanks, lbendlin .  We currently use the drill through, but was looking for alternatives.  I think the drillthrough is the best optiona t this point.

Yes, but it would be better UX if it could be a hyperlink. Our users are more experienced with hyperlinks than drillthroughs. 🙂 just saying...

Totally agree.  Hyperlink is way more intuitive and simple for users than having to right-click, then drill-through.

    Hi Anonymous ,

    I don't think so.

You will be able to create multiple reports with hyperlink but i don't think they can be dynamically changed by each other.

    Best Regards,

    Jay

Thanks, Anonymous .  I didn't think so, either, but I thought to throw out to the expertise of the group.  I appreciate the reply.
