Hey folks,
I stopped using PowerBI about 2 years ago due to a change in job. I am now starting with a new employer who uses it - I've loaded up desktop and it looks...kinds of the same as it did when I left it in 2022.
Just wondering what people think are the key changes I should be aware of. Happy to Google / YouTube these, so don't need massive explanations, but it would be great to know what the most significant things I should be aware of now I'm back in pbix game 😄
Many thanks,
Sam
Solved! Go to Solution.
@SamBerg_GS Nothing has really happened at all other than the addition of about 30,000 new preview features. Other than that, no real major changes. Maybe composite data models and hybrid tables. Everything is about Fabric these days instead of Power BI. I am attaching my PBIX where I have the releases tracked through April of this year. Very easy to see what features have been released in the last 2 years. Attached below signature.
That's a relief! Thanks for the info @Greg_Deckler , appreciated 😊
I look forward to trawling through those 30,000 preview features!!!

@Greg_Deckler good morning, and thank you for sharing PowerBI Releases.pbix.
This is very helpful.
Would it be possible to share Power BI Releases.xlsx referenced as the Source as well, please?
@foodd Sure. Attached below signature.
This is your chance to engage directly with the engineering team behind Fabric and Power BI. Share your experiences and shape the future.
Check out the June 2025 Power BI update to learn about new features.
