User text input to email

Hi,

I need help on something, here is what I'm trying to do :

  • I want the users to be able to input text in the published report
  • And when they press the button (automate I guess?) it send an email with the current report values selection + the user input text

I feel there is no way to do it, can you enlight me?

Thanks for your help!

  • Hey Anonymous ,

you can use a PowerApp for the input and then you can also send the data with a button in the PowerApp.

If you just want to send the values, then you can use a PowerAutomate button.

Both (PowerApp and PowerAutomate) are available as visuals within PowerBI.

If you need any help please let me know.
If I answered your question I would be happy if you could mark my post as a solution βœ”οΈ and give it a thumbs up πŸ‘

    Best regards

      Hello,

      I have the same issue,

I have a dashboard in Power BI service and I added to it a button that when you click on it,

It activates a Power Automate process:

-get the email of the user clicking on the button

      -send him an email

I want to add a place that he can add comments, after clicking the button,

and adss the comments in the email that It sends him.

Is there a way I can do it without Power App?

      Thank you,

      Hadas

Thanks for the quick reply! Do you know if I can do that using the Power Apps standard version? I try something similar to what you said and I got a message that I was using premium features... And I couldn't identifiy what features it was exactly, maybe the link to power bi is premium?

      Hey Anonymous ,

premium is the data source that is used. If you use a relational data source like SQL Server his requires a premium license in PowerApps.

If you only use an Excel or a Sharepoint list, then you are good to go with the free license.

      Hope that helped.

      Best regards
