User friendly slicer for hierarchy selection

I need my users to select a single period from a slicer (Month, Quarter, Year)

I used a regular slicer with 3 nested columns. I defined a single selection.

There hierarchy itself inside looks OK, but if I choose a month, the slicers' header concatenates Year + Quarter + Month in a rather user-unfriendly way.

I would like to hear you suggestions:

Is there another custom slicer you'd recommend?

Or maybe a better UX way to let a user choose one period
