Use of Manage Parameters

Hi!

I'm still confused with what's the exact purpose of the Manage Parameters function. 

I know this is the general definition of it from Power BI's documentation:

• Allows users to create new parameters, annotate them with metadata (such as Name & Description), information about the expected parameter type and values, default value and current value.

• Once parameters are available in the current file, users can reference those parameters via the User interface.

Can someone explain in what situations am I going to need this and how will it help in my Power BI report?

Hi @vishnurk!

From what I understand from the video, the manage parameters is used mostly for queries (in the Query Editor). Can this parameter also be used within the Power BI Desktop window (i.e. Report/ Data View) or in DAX?
