I have been working on a program for months that has a button with a Web URL action that opens an emain window. It has been working well, but just stopped working today...of course the day it goes to my team for review. I have re-entered the address and tried editing it in both Desktop and Service. Nothing happens when I click on the button anymore. Is there a temporary issue? Anyone have any thoughts?
Hi Can you please check the following,
->Occasionally, PowerApps updates or temporary service interruptions can cause unexpected issues. You might want to check the Power Platform status page to see if there are any known ongoing incidents or issues affecting actions like mailto:.
->If possible, try testing the app on another machine or network, as sometimes browser-specific issues (e.g., pop-up blockers) may prevent the mailto: link from launching. Make sure that your browser isn't blocking mailto links or pop-ups. Some browsers, such as Chrome or Firefox, might block certain actions if they're seen as intrusive. Try testing in another browser or clearing the cache to see if that resolves the issue.
->Additionally, if your organization is using a corporate email client, ensure that the default email client is properly configured and set up to handle mailto links. There could be some new security policies or permission changes in your environment that prevent the mailto: link from opening the email client through PowerApps. Check with your admin or team to ensure there haven’t been any restrictions applied that block external links or specific web actions.
-> If none of the above steps seem to work, try deleting the button and recreating it from scratch. Occasionally, PowerApps can have strange bugs that are resolved by simply removing and recreating the component.
If it works, please let me know.
Hello, pablo_87. Yes. For whatever reason the category of data in that column was lost. I had to reestablish it as Web URL in the Transform Data Power Query. I really like using PowerBI, but it seems to act a little glitchy now and then.
Hi @PCorbitt - can you check the URL is working as expected when you copy and use it on web brower as a part of troubleshooting? and also try to cross check in actions right URL entered in the "Web URL" field
check if there is any recent changes in URL destination too.

Thank you for looking this over. Yes, the link is a mailto: address which works as it should (opens my email, addresses it and adds a subject) when I apply it to text in a text box. However, when I put it in the Action/Web URL box for a button it doesn't do anything at all.
