Updating dataset in Power BI Desktop when original data source changes

Hello,

 

I am aware that live streaming is not available in Power BI Deskptop, but I wasn't sure if that fell under this umbrella. My dataset is orginially from an Excel file, and I was wondering if there was any way to update my Power BI Desktop dataset when new data is entered into my Excel file. If not Excel, does this work with Google Sheets?

    Brennan,

     

    We have an option to update the dataset with the latest data called Refresh under Home tab.

      SivaMani thank you. Will this work if data is appended to the table? For instance, if I am connecting to a Google Sheets doc where people are appending one table each time there is a new entry, will it add this to my data set? Or does it only update the data that already exists?
