Updating Personal Bookmarks in Power BI After Report Changes

Hi, I’ve noticed that whenever a Power BI report is updated and republished to the workspace, personal bookmarks in Power BI Service seem to break. For instance, slicers may display a full list of unrelated values. How can I update my personal bookmark to reflect the latest changes made to the report?

Hi @PBI_newuser

Generally, republishing a report to the Power BI Service does not break personal bookmarks unless there have been changes to the fields, visuals, or filters involved in the bookmark. If such changes occurred, the bookmark might need to be reconfigured.

Hi @PBI_newuser ,
As mentioned by @Ritaf1983 ,
Generally, personal bookmarks aren't affected if the report is updated and republished . However, if there are major changes to the report, such as removing or updating fields used by a personal bookmark, then personal bookmarks can break in the service. In that case reconfiguring personal bookmarks can help.
