Update data from PBI online
Hi all!
Does anyone know if it is possible to update the data directly from PBI online, from a local file? That is, if I have an excel file in a folder, and I update its data, can I view the changes directly from PBI online without going through the desktop version?

You can have an excel file in a sharepoint folder, then sinc that sharepoint folder in your pc so that the file is available localy in your machine.
Then if you edit the file you will only need to refresh the dataset in the power BI service. Also you can configure automatic refresh so you dont have to worry about it.

Besides that the method as suggested by Anonymous put the local file in Sharepoint, you can also refer the following links to install the gateway first and configure schedule refresh to get the update of the local file. The on-premises data gateway acts as a bridge. It provides quick and secure data transfer between on-premises data, which is data that isn't in the cloud, and several Microsoft cloud services.
