Update chart to show full values rather than subset when chart filter applied

When selecting values in a chart to filte data, all corresponding charts are updated, however what happens is that it highlights the subset data in the chart rather than refresh the full thing:

Is there a way to have it such that it refeshes the full chart with just the new values?

If I understand you correctly, you should be able to use "Edit Interactions" on Power BI Desktop toolbar to determine what impact the selected visualization should have on the others. 

In your scenario, change Highlight to Filter for the chart.
