Update Power BI App

If the Power BI Dataset (model) and Report are 2 separate files, will making changes to the Dataset (model) require updating the App or is it only changes to the Report that require App update?

    Hi Hoping 

     Any reports using the dataset will refresh automatically after the data set is refreshed. You will not have to manually refresh the report or the app.

     

    An exception would be if you have a report open in the Power BI Service when the dataset is refreshed. In this case, you can click the black "refresh" button in the top middle area of the report to pull in the updated data.

     

    If you make a change to the report in a workspace though (say adding a new chart), then you will have to update the App to ensure it contains the updated version of the report.
