Unreliable Refresh and old queries in query editor

Hi All,

Hoping for some help fixing unreliable powerBI dashboard refreshes

Two key issues with the refresh;

1. Occasionally, dashboard refresh fails as per below screenshot:

This is extremely intermittent and doesn't seem to be due to anything in particular.

Often, going into query editor and refreshing the query manually seems to be the problem.

However, I am building this dashboard for a client and it appears extremely unprofessional.

Refresh ErrorRefresh Error

This tends to be due to an "Expression.Error the key didn't match any rows"

2. Almost constantly, query editor informs me that "This preview may be up to XX days old" as per screenshot 2.

This happens even after refreshing the query a single day before, or even an hour before.

Can anyone explain why this is the case?

Many thanks,

Jon

In this scenario, please find the table which cause the initial "Expression.Error the key didn't match any rows" error at the bottom of the error message, then try to "Refresh Preview" this table only to see if it works. If the issue still persists, please clear cache and re-import this table. See some similar threads below:
