I recently recieved a request to use a shared semantic model for two reports. Originally, Report 1 and Report 2 were independent with each having it's own semantic model.
It was decided that Report 2 should use the same semantic model as Report 1. To accomplish this, I deleted the datasources from Report 2 and connected it to the semantic model from Report 1.
I published Report 2 to the service and expected to see Report 2 connected directly to the "Shared Semantic Model - Report 1" however there is an additional semantic model (Semantic Model - Report 2). I tried deleted the Semantic Model - Report 2 from the workspace, but it also deleted Report 2.
Is the additional semantic model how it is supposed to work and expected or is there a way to connect Report 2 directly to the Shared Semantic Model - Report 1?

HI @ERing,
The report 2 should be use the 'model 2' as source, if you want to design report referecn from the 'model 1'.
I'd like to suggest you publish report 1 to power bi service side, then you can create a new report to getting data from the previosu report model.
