after updating Power BI, I suddenly keep on getting this error message.
anybody know a fix for this?
I already tried removing the contents of the cache folder, but it did not fix the issue.

Hi @Worldbreaker,
Currently, we have reported an issue internally, that each time we open a .pbix file including HierarchySlicer, it always returns the "Unexpected error". Please check whether you have imported custom visual "Hierarchy Slicer" in those existing reports which populate unexpected error. To determine whether Hierarchy Slicer is the root cause, please check whether error persists when opening other reports without using this slicer.
If that is the case, please be patient for the fix, we have reported internally. Also you could install the latest version (Version: 1.0.3.0 Released: 7/14/2017) of Hierarchy Slicer for a test.
If that is not the case, then, in your scenario, what operation will result in such an error? Does error occur to all existing reports or just some specific reports? If launching the desktop to create a new one, does issue persist?
Regards,
Yuliana Gu
I am using the Hierarchy slicer - updated it this morning but still getting the same error message.
All,
I have submitted a new version for approval that fixes the 'unexpected error' and after approval it will be available asap.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
Thanks, JP
Looking forward to that version 🙂

Hi!
I upgraded my Hierarchy Slicers to the version 1.0.3, but still have the "Unexpected Error" message.
