Understanding connecting to Power BI datasets
Hi community,
The context is that IT department gave me access to a power BI datasets built out of BO (Business Object) and I need to include these tables in my actual model.
My first question is to know why I cant add these tables to my model. In this case the only way to see this data is to open a new file and start to create a report from zero.
My second is to know why I cant see the table viewer icon to the to the left when I got connected to this dataset(in order to generate a couple of calculated columns)...the only option is the report canvas icon.
Not query editor?
Is there a way to fix this problem or other option or idea?? maybe this data set is not what I need but I need to be sure.
The data from BO is what I need to make my report automatic....becasu what Im doing lately is to download these report from BO manually...
I would appreciate any advice...

The way that you connect to shared datasets in the Power BI Service is a live connection. So left-navigation and modeling are disabled, similar to the behavior when connected to SQL Server Analysis Services, and you can only connect to one dataset in each report.
