Unable to use SELECTCOLUMNS() in Power BI datasets

Hi,

I am using two sources of datasets (storage mode is mixed), Power BI datasets and IMPORT datasets. I want to create a table where different columns from different tables of Power BI datasets. This is because in the end I want to append Power BI datasets with IMPORT datasets.
I can use SELECTCOLUMNS() function for IMPORT datasets but I get an error when I try to use the same function for Power BI datasets.

Is there a limitation for SELECTCOLUMNS() function not to be used when the datasource is Power BI datasets?

Hi  @Anonymous ,

According to research, a similar issue has been reported internally,(ICM#: 344890500).

This issue is being attempted to be fixed and according to the message, some users have upgraded Power BI Desktop to the November version and it works fine.

You can try updating Power BI Desktop to the latest version.

Download Microsoft Power BI Desktop from Official Microsoft Download Center

I will update here once I get any information.

Best Regards,

Liu Yang
