Hi, I am unable to show progress using values in a line chart from the following table which has student names in columns. The results are recorded on a weekly basis:
I created a parameter and added this to a slicer so that individual students can be selected:
I can see the data for the selected pupils in a visual table but when I then change it to a line chart it doesn't show any data:
How do I show this data in the form of a line chart showing the progress of results over time?
Thank you
Hi @dankello
Looks like you aren't using a Date Table, and are just using the in-built date/time functionality.
In your Line Chart, change the x-axis to only display the Date, not the whole hierarchy of Day/Month/Qtr/Year.

Hi @PhilipTreacy thank you for your example. This is exactly what i'm trying to achieve but i'm still not getting the data to show in a line chart. Because each student is recorded as a header for each column of results I created a parameter slicer (containing all students) to select the student data to be presented in the line chart. I changed the date format to date only and still didn't work. The data shows correctly in a table but doesn't feed into a line chart.
Parameter slicer with student names and table showing data:
Line chart and data for X and Y axis:
Parameter:
Is there a way get the values from the parameter output into the line chart?
Thank you
