A vendor is sharing a semantic model where we are AD guest users in their external organization. I am able to view the shared semantic models in Power BI online under Home > From External Orgs. I can expore the data and build visuals online.
The vendor is successfully sharing with other clients.
However, I am not able to view the same shared models in Power BI Desktop under OneLake Catalog > External data.
When selecting External data, I do see Loading Semantic models from 1 of 2 tenants. The second is presumably the vendor.
We have tried several settings in Desktop Options and Settings and Power BI Admin portal without a change.
In Desktop Preview Features, I was not able to find DirectQuery for PBI semantic models and AS.
I beleive this is now GA? Is there a new setting to be changed?
Connect to external semantic models shared with me is correctly checked.
Any suggestions for a solutions to check on the receiver side would be greatly appreciated.
We are continuing to troubleshoot and will share our findings as well.

Hi @Jim_J ,
For this you need to connect to the vendor tenant from inside Power BI desktop.
When you login before ading the email select sign in option:
Then do sign in to an organisation:
Enter the domain:
And then the regular login.

Check out my blog: Power BI em PortuguêsThanks @MFelix. The solution did work to get us access in Power BI Desktop and a partial solution.
However, our end state should be access within our own environment with the semantic models appearing in OneLake Catalog> External Data.
Any suggestions are greatly appreaciated
Hi @Jim_J,
You cannot access it fro. Your own environment since Its not located in your tenant, the one lake is for each tenant and you cannot access from your one lake the semantic model that is on other tenant one lake.
If you go to the service you can see thst when you access external data you are actually changing tenants.
Do this test
Go to the service access the external data link
Then go to the account at the top right and check the tenant you are at, you will see that you were moved to the the tenant. Even more if you see now on tenant you have an option. To select the tenant you want to see on the service.
