Unable to reopen PBIP format after applying visual level filter

Hello Community,

I am currently working on PBIR format in desktop version and i keep my power bi up to date with latest updates.
Current Version: 2.138.1203.0 64-bit (November 2024)

Observed that for any new visual i cannot save and reopen PBIP file, if i apply visual level filter. (I am trying to apply top N filter)

Error message:

dheeraj10_2-1733430043324.png

There is a property in visual.json under <filename>.Report >> definition >> pages >> <autogenenratepageid> >>visuals >> <autogeneratedvisualid> called "filterConfig" -> "filters", where "name" property is missing (value for this property seems autogenerated as well).

Snippet of previosuly applied visual filter which does not get affected:

Snippet of new visual filter which does not allow to open PBIP file after saving and closing:

I am not sure since when this issue is popping up for other users, but previously applied visual filter are not impacted only for the new ones it seems to be an issue. Is there any way to get update from product team on resolving this issue ASAP ?

Work Around: copied and changed the "name" : "value" of another visual and pasted it in new visual in visual studio code. Now i am able to open the PBIP without any issue and visual is also having the filter applied. (changed only last value).

Posting it here so that if there are any other people facing similar issue as per latest update version this would be helpful for them as well.

In advance, thank you for taking your valuable time for reading this post.

I was facing this same issue with FilterConfig.

In my case it was appearing when using advanced mode to filter pane on a text field.

Instead of chosing "Select all" and then inchecking the option I was using advanced mode to filter like "is not" and entering its corresponding text.
After that, my pbip file was not been able to open. I made some tests, went back to previous version and compared then side by side and the only diference was on "advanced" propriety with "true". Changing it to "false" solved for me.
I hope others with the same problem can reach out to this post.
