Unable to refresh ODBC dataset on Power BI desktop

Hi all,

My local Power BI desktop is experiencing a problem with the ODBC Driver connection refresh, and I need some assistance with that.
By using the ODBC driver, I have established a connection in order to get data from MongoDB. In order to get the data, I developed System DSN.

I have successfully connected the dataset for the very first time in order to load data into the desktop version of Power BI. It gives me the error that is shown below whenever I click on the "Refresh" button.

Nevertheless, when I go to the Power Query mode and click on the "Refresh Preview" option, the dataset is updated. Honestly, I have no idea what is going on in this situation.

Can someone assist me to get this done?

In any way that you can assist me, I would be really grateful.

Thanks,
Jay

Thank you super user vanessafvg, Your ideas is so great!

Hi, @jaypatel

There are two reasons why you are experiencing the current problem:
1. issue with login credentials or
2. issue with white listed IP Address

You can refer to the official solution given by MongoDB:

Error while connecting MongoDB to PowerBI using MongoDB Atlas SQL (Beta) - MongoDB Atlas - MongoDB D...

The method of clearing cache and credentials in Power BI is as follows:

how much data is there that you bringing through?  and if you did a refresh preview on the whole dataset, so bottom left corner of the power query screen drop down where it says column profiling based on top 1000 rows to entire dataset if it is not too large... and  see if that throws up an error.

If I took the time to answer your question and I came up with a solution, please mark my post as a solution and /or give kudos freely for the effort 🙂 Thank you!
