Unable to "Switch all tables to Import Mode"

Hi,

I had a direct query set up (the only connection in the model), and after trying to apply a couple transformations, it gave me the error "This step results in a query that is not supported in DirectQuery mode.", with the option of switching all tables to import mode. When I click on the button to switch to import mode in the query editor, a popup comes up with a button to "Switch all tables to Import". After clicking on this, a different popup appears in the desktop window saying "Please apply or discard the pending query changes and then try again." If I repeat this process, the same thing happens without BI changing my query from DirectQuery to Import mode. Anyone know how I can just go ahead and switch to import mode without getting all these errors?

I had to:

1) Switch my view to "Model View"

2) Change the Storage mode to "Import" from here:

Hi guys,

I was looking for a solution to this issue and found this post.

Unfortunately, this solution is no more available (I didn't find it), but the issue remains.

Any idea?

You can discard that one change which gave you the error "This step results in a query that is not supported in DirectQuery mode." and then try to click on "Switch all tables to Import".

That should work. 

You can also change the storage type from the properties pane of Power BI. Please see the attached screenshot.
