Unable to open Power BI dataset in Tabular editor

Hi 

 

I'm unable to open a report which I'm accessing a power bi dataset in tabular editor.

 

Throws me the below error.

What type of data source are you worked on? Can you please share more detailed information to help us clarify and troubleshoot your scenario?

Its a power bi dataset accessing from live.

Hi @chiru5262,

I'm not so sure if this issue is more related to the report with hybrid mode data sources. Perhaps you can test to create a new report with a single type of data source to confirm which one causing the issue.

In addition, you can also contact and report to the tabular editor team of this tool to confirm if it is the compatibility issue of different power bi versions or other usage limitations.

@chiru5262 what you mean by working for other datasets? Are you reffing to other Power BI files?

@parry2k , I mean the orginal model where the source is from database and excel files from sharepoint is working fine.  but the source which is from a power bi report its not working.

@parry2k , June 2021, and its working for other datasets well.

 

Its just not working for power bi dataset and I want to know if there is a way to get it work for power bi datasets too.

@chiru5262 , using the external tool tab? This means you click on tabular in the external tool tab. Also, make the latest version of the tabular editor is used.

Hi @amitchandak I, yes from external tool tab I've used tabular editor latest version. 

Thats when I've got the above error message.

So my question is does the tabular editor doesn't detect power bi model?Please advise any alternate way if I can?
