Unable to load Data to power BI from Data base(MySQL)
Hi MayuriLokhande,
Apologize for the delayed response. After reviewing the information you provided, I have identified a few alternative workarounds that may help resolve the issue. Please follow these steps:
Thank you for getting back and letting us know that the issue persists. Since you've already installed the MySQL Connector/ODBC and are still seeing the message “This connector requires one or more additional components to be installed before it can be used,” let’s try a few more steps to troubleshoot further:- Confirm Power BI and Connector Architecture Match: Please verify whether your Power BI Desktop installation is 64-bit or 32-bit. You can check this under File > About in Power BI Desktop. Then ensure the MySQL connector you installed matches that architecture. A mismatch (e.g., 64-bit Power BI and 32-bit MySQL connector) will result in this error.
- Use the .NET Connector (if applicable): Power BI uses the MySQL .NET Connector in some scenarios instead of the ODBC one. Try downloading and installing the latest MySQL Connector/NET as well.
- Restart After Install: After installing the correct driver(s), ensure you restart your computer (not just Power BI) to make sure the drivers are properly registered.
- Verify MySQL Connection Outside Power BI: As a test, try connecting to your MySQL database using another tool like MySQL Workbench or ODBC Data Source Administrator. This can help determine if the issue is with the driver installation or with Power BI’s detection of it.
- Run Power BI as Administrator: Occasionally, running Power BI Desktop as an Administrator can resolve permission-related issues with driver access.
