Unable to import data

Hi,

I just downloaded Power BI in another laptop. But when I tried to import excel, the software suddenly stuck and I can't even delete the tab.

Additionaly, I also tried to open a Power BI report that I created in another device. For this one, I can open the report, but when when I tried to edit the query, the same problem happen as I mentioned before.

So I want to know what is the exact reason for this issue. Is it because of my current laptop not compatible with the software or else.

Thanks and Regards,

Aini Hadirah

Hi, @AiniRazi

try to install power bi from the app store, if the device is not compatible it will show there. Also update your graphics driver. if you are using any firewall or antivirus try to turn them off temporarily to see if it solves the problem.

Hi @AiniRazi ,

There's an official document related with this kind of issue. Please refer to

Troubleshoot Access and XLS import issues in Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Learn

In this article, it lists several causes of the issue:
1.No Access Database Engine installed
2.Access Database Engine bit version is different from Power BI Desktop bit version
3.You use Access or XLS files with Microsoft 365
For the above causes, there are also some solutions in it, please try.

Best Regards,

Stephen Tao
