Unable to export more than 300 rows to Power BI Desktop

I have a Power BI Desktop file which is an Analysis Services cube. I was able to export data to a csv file of 30,000 lines, but since last week, without any change on my part, I've been unable to export more than 300 lines, and I get this message:

Do you know what could be causing this?

From the documentation

The maximum number of rows that Power BI Desktop and Power BI service can export to a .csv file is 30,000. The maximum number of rows that the applications can export to an .xlsx file is 150,000. The actual number may be lower than 150,000 depending on query limits and visual types

Can you check  that your query is not limiting the dataset to 300 rows. Maybe your local machine doesn't have enough resources (RAM or CPU) to handle the data.

Also verify that your PBI Desktop is updated.

Otherwise there is already an issue about it for the last update : https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/troubleshoot/known-issues/power-bi-known-issues

I have version 2.121.782.0 64-bit (September 2023) of Power BI Desktop and before this update I could export 30,000 rows without any problem with my computer, which is quite powerful. So if I understand this link correctly: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/troubleshoot/known-issues/known-issue-498-export-csv-file...

This is a known problem in Power BI Desktop and the only way is to go through app.powerbi.com to export to Excel @AmiraBedh?

It is a bug in the last update of PBI. You will find a workaround in the link 🙂
