Helper IIIUnable to connect xls files
Unable to connect to xls files.
Installed Access Database engine.
Office 365, PowerBI Desktop and Access Database engine are 64 bit.
Hi sayali_deshmukh ,
XLS is an old version of Excel,which is the default file format for the 2003 version of Excel,while xlsx is the lastest version of Excel which is the file format for versions since 2007.And Power BI supports importing or connecting to workbooks created in Excel 2007 and later.

What is the error you are getting.

Hi sayali_deshmukh ,
Could you pls advise me in which way do you connect XLS files ? By ”import” or directly connect data from excel? If by import, there must be models and queries existing in the Excel, else if you choose to connect directly by “get data”,pls make sure that you have downloaded the latest version of office 365.
