Unable to connect xls files

Unable to connect to xls files. Installed Access Database engine. Office 365, PowerBI Desktop and Access Database engine are 64 bit.

Hi sayali_deshmukh ,

XLS is an old version of Excel,which is the default file format for the 2003 version of Excel,while xlsx is the lastest version of Excel which is the file format for versions since 2007.And Power BI supports importing or connecting to workbooks created in Excel 2007 and later.
