Unable to connect to data source using port in serveraddress

We created a gateway on the server where our mysql database is located. Added a datasource using the server address, for example:

serv.server.biz

Data source is connected; doesnt give any errors.

To get data from our server to make a report I use the serveraddress with port number, so for example:

serv.server.biz:23306

Pic for extra explanation:

Now if i want to use our gateway to refresh, it first gives me an error that the datasource isnt added to the gateway.
So I click to add it, but it gives me an error: Unable to connect to the data source undefined, error code -2147467259, Unable to connect to any of the specified MySQL hosts

So my question is, what is wrong here exactly? How do I fix it?

@Anonymous ,

Have you installed and configured data gateway successfully? If you have, can you connect to serv.server.biz:23306 from the server which installed the gateway?

@Anonymous  Try to use IP address instead of serv.server.biz:23306.

@nandukrishnavs Tried that, but connection sadly only works if i add the port number, even when using IP address...
