Hi,
We are unable to connect to EXASOL through POWER BI Desktop. We are facing the below errror. EXASOL is installed in the path "C:\Program Files (x86)\EXASOL\EXASolution-6.0\EXAplus" and POWER BI in the following path "C:\Program Files\Microsoft Power BI Desktop\bin". Why does it keep searching for the drivers in a different path and how to change this ?
Thanks,
Tanya.
Hi All,
We were able to proceed with by installing the related ODBC driver. But now we see a different issue. With EXASOL drivers 7.1.1 and above, TLS certificate based authentication is enforced. We found the relevant steps in the below articles - https://community.microstrategy.com/s/article/KB485556-How-to-connect-to-Exasol-using-TLS-certificat... that are to be done on the EXASOL side.
But when it comes to POWER BI EXASOL connector, is there any additional steps to be taken if we opt for standard verfication method (article linked) ? For now we are a single resource team, but if we then consider to collaborate/ share the reports with enterprise gateways installed, do we need to consider any additional steps either on POWER BI side or on the EXASOL side.?
Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks,
Tanya.
Uninstall the 32bit driver and install the 64bit driver.
Hi Ibdelin,
Thank your for the response!
Yes EXASOL does provide 64-bit ODBC drivers. https://docs.exasol.com/db/latest/connect_exasol/drivers/odbc/odbc_windows.htm
Thanks,
Tanya.
You installed the 64 bit Power BI Desktop app. Does EXASOL provide 64 bit drivers?
