Unable to connect to Azure Cosmos DB ( Table API )
Hi Team,
I am trying to connect with Azure Cosmos DB in Power BI desktop. I have azure cosmos db created and in power bi , first i provide Azure Table Enpoint Url ( from azure portal ) as URL connection in Power BI and then it asks me Account Key/Feed Key.
For Account key , i got Azure Portal -- > Azure Cosmos DB --> Connection String and then Enter Primary key as Account key in Power BI but it throwing me "We couldn't authenticate with provided credentials" Error. I even tried Secondary key and also tried regenrating keys but showing me same issue.
It is working fine with SQL API though.
Could you please hlp me with this ?

Based on this document, Connecting to Azure Cosmos DB with the Power BI connector is currently supported for Azure Cosmos DB SQL API and Gremlin API accounts only.
As a workaround, you can try to use other ways to connect Table API, such as python or others, please refer to https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/azure/cosmos-db/table-support

Does SQL API in Power BI works only with Import mode and it does not have Direct query ?

Based on this document, it currently only support import mode. You can come up a new idea and add your comments there to make this feature coming sooner. https://ideas.powerbi.com/forums/265200-power-bi-ideas

Has there been any further improvement on the way of connecting to CosmoDB (Table Api) from Power Bi? It seems a shame we moved up to CosmoDB from tables and now we don't have the report option available, was not expecting that.
What's the best route to automated reporting with the Table Api?
