Unable to apply Query, Syntax Near If
Hello,
I am trying to run a query to create a temporary table so I can do a join on it later in the query. It allows me to run the query and returns 1 column with the number of rows affect but I am unable to apply the query. The error message is:
Query1
Microsoft SQL: Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'IF'. Incorrect syntax near ')'.
Here is the query I am running
IF OBJECT_ID('tempdb.dbo.#temptable1', 'U') IS NOT NULL DROP TABLE #temptable1;
create table #temptable1 (id int primary key,date datetime, p_count smallint);
WITH temptable1 AS (
(SELECT ID,DATE,1 P_COUNT
FROM myTable
WHERE
myTable.[DATE]>=CONVERT (datetime,'07/01/2019 00:00:00' ,101)
and myTable.[DATE]<=CONVERT (datetime,'07/31/2019 23:59:59' ,101))
)
insert into #temptable1 select * from TempTable1;Any idea why this happens?2 Replies
