Unable to Start Power BI Desktop: We Werent able to connect to the model.

Please help. I cant open power bi desktop.

This is my first time to install power BI desktop in my system. Tried the following:

1. Install , reinstall , recover/fix method of x32 and x64 latest version. - does not work

2. Install , reinstall , recover/fix method of x32 and x64 December version. - does not work

3. Opening after reboot - does not work

Im running on windows 7 , intel core i7, 8 GB ram, latest IE.

@joyce23 , hope you have downloaded using the advance option from here -https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=58494

Windows 7 is should work check the system requirements

  • Microsoft Power BI Desktop requires Internet Explorer 10 or greater.

Hi Amit,

Yes I downloaded x32 and x64 using the advance option.

Checked the requirements also and it should work fine but it doesn't. 😞
